Alvarado Parkway Institute is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Social Worker!  Primarily located at our Inpatient Hospital In La Mesa. Carries out the personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance management, and employee relations functions.


  • Conducts psychosocial assessments to document the history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus.

  • Provides group and family process-oriented therapies and conduct educational and other didactic groups using various treatment modalities

  • Develops and coordinates an individualized discharge plan to determine aftercare needs

  • Attends treatment team meetings to provide social work perspective to total case management

  • Reports to community/state agencies, i.e. sexual/physical/psychological abuse, and firearms.

  • Represents the facility in 14 Cert and Write Hearings

  • Facilities patient placement


REQUIREMENTS


  • Masters degree in Social Work or equivalent Masters Degree in a recognized mental health field

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with the clinical team

  • Organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills

  • Advanced principles of abnormal psychology

  • Strong hospital experience and experience in working with psychiatric patients

  • Skill in case management and intervention techniques

  • Knowledge of involuntary commitment procedures and local San Diego community resources
