Kiddie Academy®, a leading provider of educational childcare centers, is looking for a talented and motivated Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Technology team as we continue to expand our automated and manual software testing efforts. In this position, you will work as a part of our collaborative team to plan, design, execute and validate that our software meets all functional requirements for use by Kiddie Academy’s childcare locations across the United States and the corporate office based in Abingdon, MD. 

Reporting to the Director of Technical Support and Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the planning, design, and execution of software testing for Kiddie Academy.  The Quality Assurance Specialist will work closely with and provide feedback to the DevOps team.   Manual and automated testing frameworks will be utilized to ensure new and existing software releases meet Kiddie Academy’s quality standards.  Teamwork is vital in this role, working together with the DevOps team to provide the best possible software releases and support for our customers.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Develop and execute test framework/scripts based on functional requirements 


• Identify, document and track defect/bug issues to confirm proper resolution


• Assist the DevOps team to ensure software requirements meet business expectations


• Capture, analyze and summarize test results 


• Coordinate testing efforts within development sprint timeframes 


• Document all automated and manual testing processes


• Identify risks to software quality and suggest alternative solutions to best maintain software quality and timeliness of testing


• Provide feedback to improve existing automation and manual testing processes


• Enjoy the challenge of breaking software while providing possible solution recommendations


• Contribute ideas to the development team to promote the best possible customer experience

• BS in Information Technology or a related discipline 

• Familiarity with standard QA testing methodologies and best practices

• Background developing test cases and scripts for defined requirements




• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, problem solving and debugging

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience in a Software Quality Assurance or technical testing role 




• Experience working with an agile development team in a DevOps environment

• Knowledge of automated testing tools and methodologies




• Basic understanding of web-based applications, HTML and DOM structure
