Job Description:

Limited time: $2,000 incentive, for continued employment with II-VI A&D, subject to the terms described.


  • $500 paid at 30 days of service completed
  • $500 paid at 60 days of service completed
  • $1000 paid at 90 days of service completed

You must be employed on the dates specified to receive payment.

Responsible for quality, production scheduling, process monitoring, training, and communications. Supports production by performing polishing, set-up, metrology, inspection, and maintenance procedures as required in the department. Coordinates on-time deliveries with production planning. Supports and initiates problem solving ideas with engineers from the department. Monitors process equipment to ensure normal operations and quality control. Provides leadership and technical expertise in daily manufacturing activities. Works in a manner that is consistent with physical safety considerations and OSHA, EPA, and IIVI standards.

Education/Learning Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent; additional formal training in science, engineering, or manufacturing a plus.

Work Experience:

Eight or more years of experience with a leadership position in precision optics. Twelve or more years practical experience with laser quality optical fabrication.

Skills/Knowledge

Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, good understanding of precision optical fabrication processes and metrology. Ability to solve problems using SPC skills and applied technical methods. Demonstrated ability to resolve math and geometry problems of moderate difficulty. Candidate must be very organized and results-oriented; able to enforce consistent performance of manufacturing procedures, company policies and adherence to safety requirements.

Must be able to inspire and sustain commitment to team success, and to define objectives and maintain progress in support of the team mission and in accordance with team values. Good manual dexterity and visual acuity are required. Skill in hands-on problem solving, initiative and a can-do attitude are important assets. Excellent math and geometry skills required.
