The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. You will be responsible for implementing quality improvements to a wide range of processes and products, handling customer complaints, follow-up resolution and improvement plans.

Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Facilitate problem solving teams for both customer and internal issues.  Knows the tools used in manufacturing problem solving

  • Can create and facilitate the creation/revision of Process Failure Effects Mode Analysis (PFEMA), Control Plans (CP) and/or Operator Instructions

  • Can complete Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies and interpret the results

  • Can perform statistical analysis, including capability studies, control charts, and interpret the results

  • Understands the phases of new product introduction

  • Can proficiently use Minitab

  • The ideal candidate will also know the following: Design of Experiments (DOEs), Six Sigma and/or Process Validation

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) years of experience working as a Quality Engineer in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Knowledge of PFEMA’s and how they are used

  • Knowledge of quality control plans and how they are influenced by the PFEMA

  • Understanding of statistics specifically around controls and capabilities

  • Knowledge of Poke-Yokes and their implementation

  • Knowledge of MSA studies or GRR’s

  • Knowledge of customer problem solving tools and their application

  • Microsoft Office proficient, Minitab experience a plus

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
