The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Drive continuous improvement in lean manufacturing operations.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


  • Function as a technical resource on manufacturing processes and equipment

  • Development and implementation of process improvements related to safety, quality, service, cycle time, cost, capacity and productivity

  • Development and implementation of cross-functional projects, plans, and programs in support of business and strategic plans, new process start-ups, new process technology integration, aggressive cost reduction, and supply chain improvement using Lean Six Sigma tools

  • Proactively communicates project direction and status to appropriate personnel

  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards

  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma to drive operational improvements and excellence

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment (private, public, government or military)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Master's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution

  • Experience in an engineering role supporting, optimizing automated equipment

  • Experience with Laser Technologies, 3D Printing, Robotic, Vision Systems and/or Automation

  • Strong knowledge with PLC Programming and Data Acquisition/Automation

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment (private, public, government or military)

  • Experience in leading multi-functional teams through projects from planning to completion

  • Experience with process validations and documentation

  • Experience in developing and managing capital budges and project completion within time and cost projections

  • Experience using Lean Six Sigma/Quality Improvement methods and tools

  • Strong communications skills with the ability to influence across all levels in the plant

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent communications skills (oral, written and presentation)

  • Microsoft Office proficient, CAD a distinct plus

Travel: May include up to 10%

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
