Scope of Position


Working with the LD&E Team, this role is responsible for creation of enterprise professional development offerings. This role partners with subject matter experts throughout the organization to design programs, create curriculum, select appropriate delivery methods, and assess outcomes for enhancing the development of our team members. This requires understanding the business objectives as well as conducting a robust needs assessment to ensure that learning programs address the business need and result in improved knowledge, skills, and performance of our team members. Responsible for developing, maintaining and revising initial and remedial training. The Instructional Designer designs and coordinates training content to a wide range of audiences and must be comfortable delivering presentations, both in-person and through Zoom, Teams, and other digital tools, and develops training products for use in online courses, self-paced modules, and websites including video, audio podcasts, and graphics. Reporting to the Director, Learning, Development & Engagement, this position has end-to-end program design and improvement ownership for our enterprise level offerings.



Job Responsibilities



  1. Design highly engaging content and materials and influence the redesign of templates, job aids, and diagrams to improve the retention of knowledge.

  2. Establish strong partnership with key business stakeholders to continuously remain aligned with current business issues and opportunities, as related to learning and development and team member engagement.

  3. Facilitate training assessment and competency/needs analysis to assess training needs for targeted audiences.

  4. Gather and assimilate source material to create engaging learning and support resources that are simple to understand and relevant to the audience.

  5. Works with Manager-Team Member Engagement on continual development of onboarding training - both self-guided and instructor-led.

  6. Assess development needs and work with business unit managers and team(s) to arrange training in areas ranging from supervisory/management skills to professional development, as required to fill identified needs.

  7. Actively involved in the delivery of learning and development programs as identified by the Director of Learning and Team Member Engagement.

  8. Assist in organizational development/career pathing, which will ensure a holistic Team Member career development experience at Haskell.

  9. Utilize Haskell's learning management system in an administrative role to manage compliance, other training program ls, content, delivery and metrics.

  10. Build compelling initiatives to bring Haskell's culture norms to life & inspire team members to inculcate aligned behavior and mindsets.

  11. Engage with Haskell leadership and HR Operations team using a high touch approach and involve/engage them in the design, implementation, utilization, and facilitation of processes related to the team member life cycle and experience.


Education/Experience


Bachelor's degree in instructional design/human resources/business/education related field with minimum of 5 years of corporate training and instructional design experience for virtual and in-person delivery.




Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.



  1. Proficiency in instructional software tools, preferably Articulate, Camtasia, and Adobe eLearning/creative cloud suite (Captivate)

  2. Experience with Learning Management Systems, preferably Cornerstone On-Demand

  3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
