At Bose, you will have the opportunity to create extraordinary sound quality experiences for our customers.As an acoustics technician, you will work with multidisciplinary development teams, and take an active role developing world class audio products. You will use your technical knowledge, understanding of physics, acoustic design experience, and your critical listening skills to help conceive, design, prototype, measure and deliver outstanding products that will delight Bose customers. As a creative contributor, your ideas, concepts, and assessments will directly influence product development decisions, and may influence the strategies of our business segment.

Responsibilities:

You will support engineering activities such as design, test, modification, fabrication, of prototype electro-mechanical-acoustic systems, experimental design circuitry, and specialized test equipment with a primary focus on headphone products. You should be comfortable working form: schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal descriptions.

You will conduct engineering tests and detailed experiments to collect design data, and assist in development work. You will use manufacturing test, development, and diagnostic equipment including specialized audio measurement equipment.

Required Skills /Abilities:


  • Solid Technical knowledge of audio principles acoustics, and electrical circuits.

  • Ability to work independently, using judgement to seek advice on complex situations.

  • Use sophisticated measurement techniques for acoustic and electrical tests.

  • Ability to recognize anomalies in results.

  • Document measurements, including all relevant information, in a logical way / location.

  • Ability to build prototypes from a quick sketch or verbal instructions.

  • Use independent judgment when making choices about design specifics.

  • Coordinate with internal customers and have a good understanding of the complete system.

  • Good Interaction skills with engineers from all disciplines (e.g. SW, DSP, EE, ME, PE, MFG)

Preferred Skills


  • Can build complicated prototypes from detailed plans

  • MATLAB experience

  • Expert at assembling and modifying circuits, plastic enclosures, SLAs.

  • Can manage hardware and software updates, (hardware / software version control)

  • Can repair amplifiers, power supplies, and other audio equipment.

  • 5+ years of direct product development experience

  • 2-year technician certificate
