Job Description:

Summary:

The Senior Estimator will be a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced estimating concepts for mid to large scale construction projects of significant complexity across various markets or within an assigned line of business, Region or Division. This position provides direct support to the project teams in the planning and execution of the job, to include determining scope of project, unit/man-hour figures, and required proposal contents.

The Senior Estimator will completely understand the business, its context, manage implications related to estimating and cost control within the assigned Region or Division and assists in leading the effort to ensure compliance with the Henkels & McCoy established Project Management Methodology and upholds H&M safety and quality management protocols.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Estimator leads every level of the estimating process including: reviewing of contract document issues and requirements, attending pre-bid meetings, traveling to job locations to confirm project site conditions and evaluating contract specifications and scope definition on bid opportunities. This position also assists field personnel in developing and/or recommending change orders to scope as needed.

This role plans, monitors, and reports status and performance data to management and stakeholders while participating in Executive level multi-stakeholder conflict resolution and avoidance to ensure efficient productivity and completion of deliverables.

The Senior Estimator provides thought leadership in the continuous improvement of methodology and/or selection of tools, approaches and process enhancements using fundamentals of H&M Project Management practices. Additionally, this role implements infrastructure and processes to enable deployment against project demands.

Required Skills:


  • Experience in leading estimating activity for mid to large scale projects and advanced knowledge of construction and utility industry practices

  • Experienced with relevant estimating software and MS Office Suite

  • Completion of H&M PMM training and some formal Project Management coursework

  • Highly complex problem-solving skills


Minimum Educational Background:

BS degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Business

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:

15+
