Job Description Summary

Tends machine that performs one or more packaging functions such as filling, marking, labeling, banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers by performing the following duties.



Job Description



Assures quality of workmanship by continual observation of the assigned line and performing necessary adjustments to ensure:


  • Proper bag sealing.

  • Proper operation of metal detector and check weigh-er.

  • Proper replacement of bags in the cases.

  • Proper adjustment of case shakers.

  • Proper adjustment of case sealers and glue patterns.

  • Performance of operator level maintenance on assigned packaging lines.

  • Correct and legible case codes.



Assures conformance with food safety sanitation standards by:


  • Keeping area clean and walkways free of product and debris.

  • Cleaning floors and equipment during breaks.

  • Ensuring that product rejected by the metal detectors is disposed of according to policy.

  • Assuring that hand dips are being used and changed in the prescribed manner.



Assures conformance with Health and Safety Regulations by:


  • Strictly following Lock Out/Tag Out procedures on all equipment.

  • Strictly following Personal Protective Equipment requirements set forth in training.
