Position Description:
Micro-Poise Measurement Systems an AMETEK Company is an OEM supplier of capital test equipment to the worldwide automotive and tire industries. Micro-Poise is currently seeking an EHS and Manufacturing Engineer at our Streetsboro, Ohio facility. The qualified candidate will work to lead EHS as well as develop and improve manufacturing processes.

EHS Duties and Responsibilities:

•Support the company’s framework (annual compliance calendar) for the site on Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and inform corporate on progress of all compliance requirements

•Manage and eradicate EHS operational risks and hazards to ensure an accident/ hazard free/echo friendly work environment

•Utilization of data to lessen environmental footprint and increase sustainability

•Ensure At-risk-behaviors and At-risk-conditions are addressed

•Track all corrective measures to ensure they are effective and completed speedily

•Responsible for developing the EHS annual site budget to control fixed and variable cost expenditures

•Work together with Line Managers/supervisors when coordinating investigation of incidents and injuries to achieve accurate and timely completion

•Provides continual feedback on operational safety and environmental performance

•Provides all information required by corporate

•Train employees, temps and contractors during orientation

•Prepare waste profiles using experience on hazardous waste management

•Prepares and develops safety procedures and train personnel on lockout/tagout out, work at heights, forklift training, respiratory protection, hazard communication, etc.

•Ability to interpret EHS/OSHA standards and regulations and use those that apply to the plant and offices

Manufacturing Engineering Duties and Responsibilities:

•Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout

•Evaluates manufacturing processes for continuous improvement while providing feedback on design for manufacturability

•Provides support to shop floor employees on manufacturing processes and provide feedback to design engineering for correction of documentation or design improvement

•Keeps manufacturing equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services

•Uses Lean Six Sigma concepts to implement changes for improved quality and productivity and updates standard labor hours on all product lines and evaluates labor productivity by area/product

•Creates, implements, and monitors manufacturing key performance indicators

•Identifies opportunities for OPEX cost reduction on TCOQ, manufacturing supplies and labor

•Establishes and maintains test requirements for internal test specifications and maintains test requirements for customer acceptance specifications

Position Requirements:
•Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline

•3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing plant, both as manufacturing engineer and EHS coordinator

•Experience in accident investigation and prevention, applied ergonomics expertise and understanding of EPA and OSHA regulations

•Good understanding of root cause analysis for both quality issues and investigation of incidents

•Experience of successfully implementing modern manufacturing techniques and good working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methods

•Excellent communication skills, strong people management skills

•Computer literate – Word, Excel, MS Project

•Methodical – Good attention to details

•Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing

•Strong project management skills

•Ability to drive decisions and get closure on recommendations and obstacles quickly

•Able to interact with and influence others effectively

•Occasional travel required (5%)
