Job Description

Belanger, Inc.is part of OPW VWS, a leader in the Vehicle Wash Manufacturing industry, we are seeking a Purchasing Manager based out of our Novi facility. The Purchasing Manager will help develop, implement, and enforce all purchasing procedures and processes. ThePurchasing Manager, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, assists inmaintaining or developing purchasing policies and procedures. This role manages and controls the supplier base for Belanger, Inc and assists in Trade Compliance efforts.

Essential Functions:

• Managea three person purchasing team includingtraining, work allocation, and problem resolution.


• Advise other departments of any changes in prices and lead times and material availability.


• Expedite deliveries as needed.


• Partner with engineering forapproval for alternate materials if delivery would delay production.


• Resolvecomplex issues and supports production in material needs.


• Able to perform the daily functions of the department.


• Aid in trade compliance with Supply Chain Manager to help ensure it is maintained within the system and coordinate policy procedure with the purchasing team.


• Assist production in getting answers to their questions on parts issues.


• Assist to maintain inventory levels consistent with production schedules.


• Work with Vendors on VMI and Kanban Systems within the plants


• Work with Life Cycle Engineering on Warranty issues.


• Review order status and MRP report daily and place and review orders as necessary.


• Be able to manage and create reports in Excel and Smartsheet for the purchasing team.

Requirements:

• Ability to forecast and analyze data


• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors


• Has strong communication and negotiation skills, able to meet with suppliers and vendors

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years purchasing experience

• Bachelor degree and/ or CPIM certification preferred.
