If you have experience designing and implementing innovative solutions to complex business problems, come be a part of our Engineering & Operations Team in Temple University's Information Technology Services Department.

The Solutions Architect I will bring a breadth and depth of knowledge across multiple technology domains. While the incumbent may not be experts in all domains, they are confident in representing the foundational best practices and existing industry standards.

Expected to be engaged on projects for departmental systems or solutions implementation to provide technical guidance and participate in design discussions.

You will interact closely with cross-functional, cross-platform support teams that are responsible for the timely delivery of mission critical services at the University.

This role is designed for individuals who are highly self-motivated and collaborative as it presents exposure to all areas of IT in Information Technology Services as well as the representatives from Schools and Colleges. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least three years of directly related technical experience. Project management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

* In-depth knowledge of Windows & Linux Based Operating Systems.

* Automation and Orchestration Tools (Satellite, Kickstart, Puppet, Jenkins).

* Proficient in support of Database and Web Infrastructure/platforms

Hyperconverged systems - VMware or similar

* Ability to research and recommend Open-Source solutions whenever practical to minimize ongoing platform expenses and return control of future technology decisions to the University.

* Support annual Disaster Recovery Testing.

* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals.

* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary.

Preferred:

* Familiarity with DevOps principles

* Kubernetes and Containerized environments

* Cloud Services Experience - O365, Azure, Google Workspace

* Incident Management systems

* Project Management principles

* Automation tools (Ansible, vRealize Automation, vRealize Orchestrator)

This position requires a background check.

Please note this position will temporarily work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department.
