Your Role
The Delivery Automation and Release Engineering team collaborates with both Business and IT teams to support the portfolio to product model transition by enabling Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. The Senior Automation and Tools (DevOps) Engineer will report to the Sr. Manager of SCM, Automation and Tools. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with multiple teams to be an integral part of our DevOps and DevSecOps journey.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
Document knowledge and intellectual capital related to automation frameworks and automated test solutions
Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests to be used in middleware and GUI testing of applications/systems spanning multiple domains
Define, track, and report key performance indicators, metrics, and trends related to automation development, usage, and contribution to software quality
Troubleshoot complex problems with automation tools and automation framework setup/configuration
Communicate with stakeholders regarding automation planning, design, meeting automation requirements, and automation development activities
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and tooling/automation frameworks
Set up and maintain integrations among SDLC tools
Implement SDLC tooling process and explore new tools to support simplification and modernization of SDLC process
Create technical design documents and review with stakeholders
Perform root cause analysis and deliver resolution for tools and automation failures
Your Knowledge and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience
Requires 3 years' experience in Java
Ability to lead technical teams through the design and implementation of automation
Deep understanding of modern Web, SOA/Microservice and Cloud Native architecture
2+ years of experience in creating Pipeline as Code and shared libraries (Jenkins, Groovy)
1+ years of experience in implementing Cloud based DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code
1+ years of experience in rolling out container-based solutions (Docker, Kubernetes) and experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
Ability to implement engineering best practices and techniques (Trunk Based Development, Test Pyramid, Feature Toggles, Blue-Green Deployment)
Ability to excel in a fast-paced agile development setup
