Your Responsibilities

As a Solution Architect for Database Technologieslocated in Moline, IL, you will;


  • Govern database technologies (SQL, NoSQL and In-memory) in Cloud, Edge and On-Prem
  • Recommend best practices for highly available and continuously available databases
  • Recommend database platforms for application teams
  • Recommend tools and technologies for database model versioning and automation

What Skills You Need

• Business acumen with contextual knowledge in the product family and function
• Experience using architecture principles and practices when making decisions and creating/designing solutions and associated work products
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, conflict resolution skills and ability to model and communicate complex concepts in both written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated experience influencing without authority
• Experience communicating up, down, and across the business and IT organization, including other business and technology leaders
• Proven understanding and operational/delivery experience with common application development environments, solution platforms, data management, and/or infrastructure capabilities and constraints
• 5 years or more experience in creating high-quality data foundations that advance the overall effectiveness of products, and provide a foundation for data-driven insights
• 5 years or more experience working with RDBMS Technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, Postgresql, MySQL, DB2
• 3 years or more experience working with AWS RDS
• 2 years or more experience working with No-SQL databases such as MongoDB, AWS Document DB, Cassandra, CosmosDB
• 2 years or more experience working with In-memory database such as SAP Hana or In-memory datastore such as AWS Elasticache (Redis, memcache)
• 3 years or more Infrastructure and software engineering experience with SQL/No-SQL platforms particularly regarding system availability and resilience

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience working with integration (e.g. REST APIs, web services, sub-system interface/protocol design, etc.)
• Experience leading vendor and partner selections and understanding of the complexities and compatibility constraints of introducing a new tool/partner to the current technology ecosystem
• Experience working with modern architectures and design techniques such as: cloud centric (PaaS, IaaS, SaaS), API focused integration, data driven, integrated solutions/platforms, infrastructure components, security by design
• Experience serving as an advocate for the architecture practice that helps drive for solutions that are of high quality, secure and cost effective (SQDC)
• Experience working in an Agile environment including understanding of sprint planning cycles and architecture's role in delivering just-in-time/incremental intentional architecture
• Experience with, or a contextual understanding of Transactional, Warehouse, Analytical and Reporting Database Platforms and design patterns to manage them in a cost-efficient way

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
• Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science
