Your Responsibilities

As a Material Coordinator Lead for John Deere Seeding Moline located in Moline, IL, you will serve as the lead contact for the Manufacturing (primaries, weld, paint) production control team and communicate part availability issues and resolution to operations and other key stakeholders. In addition, you will:


  • Work critical shortage and delinquency reports to ensure part availability
  • Work closely with several functional areas including operations, engineering, supply management, and material flow to root cause and correct material shortages, inventory discrepancies, reporting issues, COGI, and consumption issues
  • Facilitate onboarding of Material Coordinators, primarily in weld, primaries, and paint
  • Communicate with off-shift team members to ensure production needs are met
  • Implement the output from the engineering release and change management process
  • Provide information to operators for system locations, track and request critical parts and locate missing or lost loads

What Skills You Need


  • One or more years of experience in a Material Coordinator role
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with an emphasis on effective written and verbal communication
  • Proven organizational experience handling multiple projects or tasks
  • Experience leading a team or project and delivering results
  • Effective documentation, planning, and decision-making skills
  • Able and willing to work extended hours to support the production schedule including weekends

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Experience with Primaries, Weld, or Paint Manufacturing
  • Experience with a Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system (Such as: SAP)
  • Experience influencing without authority
  • Knowledge of Kanban and other delivery methods
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory operations
  • Experience with Order Fulfillment, Supply Management, and/or Material Flow processes
  • Experience leading meetings and speaking in front of a group

Education

Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, Supply Management, Accounting/Finance, or a related field, and/or at least 3 years of relevant work experience
