The Old El Paso R&D Technologist will be part of the Innovation, Technology & Quality (ITQ) team supporting Old el Paso Innovation, Core or Holistic Margin Mgt (HMM) projects involving carrier product platform (tortilla, taco shells, bowl, tortilla pockets). As a Carrier Technologist, you are joining a team that is pursuing product development to drive growth and competitive advantage for Old El paso.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Design, coordinate and execute experiments from bench top to full scale manufacturing, including consumer testing; analyze experimental data and extract learning
Building "go-to" technical expertise in carriers (troubleshooting, etc.)
Build and leverage internal and external network (i.e. manufacturing facilities, suppliers) to support and execute work; will lead and own portions of work or projects
Participate in pipeline building activities (across new/reno/HMM); provide broad support
Leadership of team specific projects to drive process improvements/efficiencies; teach/train others
Collaborate with scientists on method development and enhancements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2-Year Degree or High School Degree w/3-5 years of directly relatable experience
Basic computer/technology skills (Office Suite, other computer programs)
Comfortable in processing (pilot plant or plant) environment; comfortable operating equipment
Basic understanding of food safety and human safety
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous work experience in a similar field (Food product development experience/Laboratory experience)
Passionate around the creation of food, CPG industry, and consumer trends (both food and packaging)
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment; desire to learn new concepts quickly and apply in productive ways
Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to a team environment
Strong self-starter and holds a high regard for quality of work; ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
