Scope:


This role will be an essential contributor to the development of March of Dimes' product portfolio, with ownership over key Mission Investment product lines including NICU Initiatives and Supportive Pregnancy Care. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Health Equity, experience in product management for healthcare products, and strong business acumen. You will have a dynamic role collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to find out how to meet needs, while keeping a pulse on where the industry is heading. You will co-lead, in collaboration with Mission delivery leaders, the vision and roadmap for these product lines with the ultimate goal of creating highly impactful, sustainable product offerings designed for scale. You will serve as a product manager for both of these product lines as we establish new innovation roadmaps for each. You will own the product roadmap and P&L, lead business case and budget planning, cross-functional evaluation and requirements definition, and be in charge of the full lifecycle management through the product development process. We are looking for a design-savvy individual with experience collaborating and influencing within a matrix team, and eager to facilitate innovation planning and alignment with others on the Innovation and Product Development Team, broader Mission and Market Impact Teams, Marketing and Revenue Development Teams to set each innovation up for a successful full market launch and ongoing maintenance and improvement.


Position Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Market evaluation and roadmap leadership:



  • Leveraging current products and landscape insights, conduct needs assessments and market assessment as needed to understand competition, needs, target population and value proposition to innovate current and expand to new product offerings which deliver useful content and tools to key stakeholders.

  • Define and maintain the product roadmap and mobilize cross-functional stakeholders around product vision and strategic direction.

  • Define final market requirements including method(s) of delivery (telehealth, in person, digital platforms, etc.) based on information gathered.


Business model planning and P&L ownership:



  • In collaboration with Innovation and Product Development Team, drive development of initial business case(s), business models for initial use and expansion with cost and return on investment insights.

  • Ensure alignment with the strategic goals of the March of Dimes mission and provide recommendation for appropriate product investment and roadmap planning.

  • Present business cases and make investment recommendations for new innovations.

  • Plan and own responsibility for P&L of each product line, ensuring bottom and top line forecasting is informed, risks are managed, and product sustainability is established.


Product design and development:



  • As lead and/or in collaboration with experts, design and develop new product offerings and innovations to existing ones.

  • Use human-centered design principles in collaboration with stakeholders to gather requirements, design content, write user stories, workflows, and/or other interactive delivery models for end users.

  • Develop product per designs and market requirements for pilot and full commercial use, using internal resources as feasible and external partners/vendors where additional development support is required (such as digital tool creation, HCD facilitators, subject matter experts, etc.)



  • Commercialization and lifecycle management:

  • Work closely with MOD staff and stakeholders across the organization to conduct user acceptance testing / pilots, launch full commercial offerings, and maintain in production.

  • Work closely with the Revenue Development Team on the commercialization planning and the framework for the launch to establish revenue opportunities for the initial launch as well as the foundation for future growth.

  • Design and/or support workflows for identification, training and technical assistance of partners and March of Dimes staff responsible for implementing product.

  • Ensure contracting, data collection and use agreements, evaluation plans and necessary execution protocol are defined and agreed upon by all parties.

  • Ensure product development process is followed and lifecycle management for products is defined and maintained. Maintain product backlog of enhancements, new features, and bug fixes.

  • Create and monitor success metrics for each offering, and strategize for new enhancements and innovation opportunities.


Partnership creation and relationship management:



  • Cultivate partnerships and ensure effective collaboration with health systems, health care payers, health care providers, and maternal and child health organizations to inform product design and commercialization.

  • Identify and manage relationship with donors, technical and clinical partners to support development of product and/or investment in it.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to support the development, implementation, and expansion of products.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, business, or other related field

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Product Manager. Experience in the healthcare or public sector preferred.

  • Basic design skills and ability to communicate new features via sketches, and mockups

  • Demonstrated experience in writing clear and detailed product requirements

  • Experience regularly interacting with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts, marketers, developers, engineers and

  • Ability to create and build buy-in for product plans and roadmaps and inform strategic planning

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication; ability to break complex topics down for different audiences using written proposals and professional PowerPoint presentations

  • Experience conducting user/design research including interviews, surveys, and usability tests

  • Deeply collaborative and an excellent team player

  • Strong business acumen with understanding of P&L management, ROI principles and risk management

  • Self-starter with resilience, comfort with ambiguity and strong problem solving skills

  • Strong project management skills and fluency in PM tools such as Asana

  • Master's degree preferred - MBA, MPH, health education, or related field

  • Knowledge and experience in Maternal, Infant and/or Child health products and programs

  • Formal Human Centered Design training and skills

  • B2B saas experience
