About the job

Alcoa's ITAS team is looking for a professional to explore new ways of delivering value to Supply Chain and Transportation business customers supporting their strategies, transformation and modernization initiatives focusing on next generation of business processes and technical solutions.

The position works in partnership with supply chain and transportation areas on enhancing, transforming, and implementing solutions; bridging the gap between business strategy and rite sized technology solutions which fit in a complex technology ecosystem.

The Business Technologist supports Alcoa’s Enterprise application portfolio and ecosystems through simplification, standardization, digitalization and assists with improving the integration, automation, and data strategies, following company’s standards, governance structure and targeting commonality of business solutions.

Key activities:

• Work with supply chain and transportation business teams to ensure their needs are fulfilled.




• Support to optimize business performance and comprehend its current condition, strategies and recommends cost effective changes for existing processes and systems.




• Develop positive relationships with the teams and leadership.




• Use comprehensive knowledge of supply chain practices to navigate through data and technology challenges.




• Facilitate ideation, option development, solution design, implementation and deployment roadmap development for new digital initiatives and application projects.




• Stay ahead of technology trends and innovations and collaborates with IS Architecture & Governance, Integration, Infrastructure, Data Architects, Security, Data Privacy and other groups to ensure right adoption of business solution used by these areas.

About you:

• Technical degree; BA or Computer Science background desired.




• 7+ years systems implementation & support experience on complex, large scale applications.




• Effective interpersonal and leadership skills; good communication and problem-solving ability.




• Good understanding of IT Service Management, IT compliance.




• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Power BI.




• Demonstrate experience reducing cost or improving efficiency in previous jobs.




• Understands the importance of data single source and data linage.




• Background of cloud solutions e.g.: Cargo Value/Klaveness Digital, IMOS/Veson.




• Must be fluent in local language and possess a proficient level of English.
