Customer Service - Program Representative

As part of the Rental Assistance team, the Customer Service - Program Representative provides information and assistance to rental assistance program participants with regards to eligibility and program requirements.

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following:



  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, timeliness and accuracy are skills essential to this position.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Strong sense of urgency and time management skills.

  • Ability to multitask efficiently.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of related experience preferred.

  • Desire to work with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

  • Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish or English/Khmer) preferred.

  • Familiarity with housing regulations is a plus.




Responsibilities include:



  • Communicate with clients by telephone, email or in person to provide information about services available or to handle any concerns.



  • Screen client inquiries for eligibility.

  • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve client concerns:

    • Recertifications/Lease-ups

    • Annual and interim income adjustments

    • Changes in family composition/Change of address

    • Move-outs/Transfers/Inspections



  • Maintaining client caseload as well as appropriate documentation ensuring compliance with program regulations.



  • Explain program requirements, regulations and procedures to applicants, participants and owners.
