About the role:
The purpose for this position is to provide technical engineering support of our manufacturing and assembly operations with a focus on safety and ergonomic improvements, continuous process optimization, waste elimination, and new product introductions.

This role is part of the Operations Engineering team and interacts daily with internal personnel from Operations, Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Field Service.

Responsibilities and Duties
•    Drive continual improvement of fabrication and assembly processes through direct labor content reduction, process improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement initiatives
•    Active participant in operational Kaizen events focused on direct labor analysis, methods improvements, asset optimization, square footage utilization, and elimination of Non-Value-Add       (NVA) activities 
•    Establish direct labor standards and line balances through direct observation of fabrication and assembly processes
•    Develop and maintain accurate product item masters, bills of material, and labor routings within the ERP system
•    Develop and maintain assembly work instructions and fabrication setup sheets for new and existing processes
•    Perform ergonomic assessments of current processes and implement safety improvements through tooling enhancements, workstation organization, and point-of-use material                   presentation improvements
•    Develop and maintain workstation, assembly line, plant, and facility layouts
•    Support the new product development process through completion of all assigned Operations Engineering deliverables 
•    Processing and implementation of ECRs and ECNs
•    Identification and resolution of labor and material work order cost variances
•    Interact with Quality Assurance and Field Service to investigate and resolve installation issues and customer complaints
•    Assist in Capital Expenditure Request (CER) justifications by establishing current state baseline and quantifying future state projected improvements 
•    Provide input to the departmental expense and capital budgets 
•    Stay abreast of latest trends within the industry. Evaluate, justify, and incorporate new technologies where applicable
•    Other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications and Required Skills
•    BS in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering
•    3–5 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer in an electromechanical fabrication and assembly environment
•    Experience with continuous process improvement and lean manufacturing tools including Kaizen events, DFMA, PFMEA, 5S, MSA, DMAIC, and PDCA 
•    Experience with engineering workflow systems (ECR, ECR) 
•    Efficient computer skills including MS Office, Visio, AutoCAD, and ERP/MPR systems 
•    Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, ECNs, and routings
•    Physical Requirements:


  •  Position requires the ability to lift, bend and squat. Needs to bend/pivot to pick up and lift product and equipment from floor to workbench height 

  •  Extended periods (hours) of standing/sitting/walking to perform assigned job functions. Standing 40%, Sitting 30%, and Walking 30% of the time
