Fairmont San Juan Hotel Engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance of the guestrooms, public spaces and back of the house areas to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.

What you will be doing:
Dedicated to ensure the correct maintenance of: The guestrooms, public spaces and back of the house areas in perfect state, to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel. These assignments relate to a variety of trades that include, but are not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering and masonry.
Inspects guestrooms, public spaces and back of the house for areas to repair, touch up or replace.
Repairs and/or replaces items such as light bulbs, lamps, fixtures, receptacles, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, A/C machines, tile work, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting, or other miscellaneous items.
Assists other department team members in the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program.
Must keep a detailed record of repairs made and/or areas needing further attention is required for logs and inspection sheets purposes.
Makes repairs to hotel air conditioning system, such as change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment, such as boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.
Takes required readings on equipment.
Tests cooling tower and records readings.
Replaces and repairs pumps .
Performs plumbing repairs, such as clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc.
Traces and repairs all types of water lines.
Troubleshoots and repairs kitchen equipment.
Test, clean and repair fountains, swimming pools and spas.
Touch-up paint in designated areas.
Repairs and finish sheet rock.
Repairs and programs hotel electronic lock system.
Responds to requests reported thru the help line.
Responds to request throughout the facility to make the necessary repairs.
Your experience and skills include:
EDUCATION
Vocational or Technical school graduate.
Ability to speak English and Spanish
Computer knowledge (windows platform)
EXPERIENCE
Experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
At least two to three years of progressive experience in hotel or related field required.
Some hospitality experience preferred.
