We are seeking a Test Analyst to help provide test support for the shared game engine.

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We've transitioned to a work-from-home model and we're continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person's circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced testing methodologies to deliver test design, test execution, test library maintenance, and test closure strategies


• Analyze & monitor the software development processes and methods used to ensure quality


• Ensure requirements and risks are continually either mitigated or accepted throughout the SDLC


• Partner with test stakeholders to collaboratively identify and meet test objectives


• Be a creative thinker who can quickly and thoroughly identify and test for 'edge cases' outside of expected functionality


• Build positive relationships with development teams across Blizzard


• Enhance live operations and deployment stability, across both internal and production environments


• Research, recommend and adopt tools as needed with the goal of increasing test coverage through automation


• Propose and influence new measures and KPIs to validate and report on software quality


• Help others as they develop appropriate knowledge and skills through training, constructive feedback, and mentorship


• Approach software development from a Grey-box perspective; utilizing established developer toolsets to build custom test scenarios


• Represent Blizzard through public-facing quality assurance activities


• Responsible for adhering to department SLAs within project management (i.e., JIRA) and test related tools (i.e. TestRail)


• Advocate of the user experience through delivery of qualitative reporting


• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree in related field (or ~3 years of equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 3 years' experience in software testing


• Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically QA processes in agile and waterfall development environments


• Excellent verbal and written communications skills for sharing ideas clearly, learning from others, and giving meaningful feedback


• Extraordinary self-motivation and initiative


• Experience in writing, executing, and monitoring test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Testrail, JIRA, Confluence, as well as other proprietary game development toolsets


• Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and action on data sets and complex workflows


• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) or equivalent


• Experience with game engines, content and asset editors, and shared technologies


• Passion for games and software quality

• Experience with Unity, Unreal, or other development engines


• White box testing experience


• ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level (CTAL) or equivalent


• Coding knowledge: XML/HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/C#, or SQL


• High-level of gaming knowledge and/or skill


• Passion for Blizzard's line of products and services
