The Department Coordinator for the Music Studies Department will support a wide variety of activities under the direction of the Music Studies Department Chair, Boyer College of Music and Dance. The Department Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day administrative operations in Music Studies which include: monitoring and tracking of departmental budget for department chair, processing all Accounts Payable paperwork/requests, travel reimbursements, purchasing of supplies, event planning and preparation, answering departmental inquiries, maintaining departmental database and resources, and maintaining a professional public image of the department through website and social media presence including regularly updating the departmental webpage with faculty activities, sending social media invites and reminders regarding Colloquium presentations and other faculty and student-related events, and soliciting and posting feedback from attendees. Supports students and faculty with organizing and maintaining up-to-date materials for music theory and elective classes under the Music Studies Chair's direction. Assists the Music Studies Chair with the online hiring process for adjunct faculty. Communicates protocols regarding course selection, prioritization, and possible substitutions to students within the music minor program.

The Department Coordinator may also provide support with assisting in the Music Studies admissions/testing process in conjunction with the CPCA Recruiting and Admissions team. Assists the Presser Main Office/Dean's Office with daily inquiries and support as needed; Assists the CPCA recruiting and admissions area with project-based tasks. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
At least three (3) years of directly related administrative experience. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, reading/understanding budget reports, Excel financial spreadsheets, and Adobe Creative Suite. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Strong oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of administrators, faculty, staff and students.

*Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

*Ability to multi-task efficiently with time-sensitive deadlines and assist/support multiple areas.

*Ability to oversee and manage day-to-day office environment.

*Understanding of event planning, and oversight of assigned budget expenses.

*Must be highly organized and detail oriented.

*Ability to understand and process financial documentation.

*Ability to understand web communications, social media and websites, and enter data on sites.

*Ability to work some evening/weekend hours and potential off-site work.

Preferred:

*Music and/or Arts background.
*Strong speaking and presentation skills.
*Understanding of web communications, social media and website support.
