Ad Ops Manager

Position Overview

As part of the larger Digital Ad Operations team at Crain, your primary focus will be managing our ad ops partner who is responsible for day-to-day trafficking functions. In addition, you'll be responsible for other areas such as ad system management, digital product maintenance, helping provide analysis and drive strategy for our brand portfolio, and collaborating with team members across Ad Ops and other departments. The Publisher Support Manager role isintegralto help our DigitalAdOperations teamand ourCrainBrandsachieve their goals.

This position reports to the Associate Director, Digital Operations and can be office-based in Detroit, Chicago, or remote.

KeyAreas of Responsibility

• Manage relationship with Ad Ops vendor


• Maintain digital products in ad server and OMS and manage communication around changes


• Work across business units to vet, prioritize, and enable new ad products and revenue-driving initiatives


• Work with internal teams to execute needed ad tagging changes, implement product, or enrich technologies to improve advertising offerings


• Work proactively and collaboratively to ensure and validate campaign success


• Troubleshoot escalated campaign issues


• Act as key resource for ad hoc questions from internal teams


• Collaborate on inventory management


• Monitor and analyze key revenue & performance metrics


• Assist in yield management - including but not limited to viewability, floor rates, etc


• Provide end of month data for financial reporting


• Train internal and brand teams on technology or processes as needed

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum3years of experience in Digital Ad Operations


• Understanding and troubleshooting ability for rich media, video encoding, HTML, HTML5, JavaScript.


• Experience with GAM, Powerinbox (Jeeng), Teads, or other related ad tech.


• Familiarity with ad serving constituent technologies (ad server logic, redirects, pixels, etc.)


• Familiarity with online ad serving concepts (CPM, CPA, etc.)


• Familiarity with DMP, ESP, CMS, CRM and ticketing systems


• Familiarity with behavioral targeting,audience segmentationand programmatic salesa plus


• Exceptional relationship management and communications (written and verbal)with proven track record of cross team collaboration


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Knowledge of and enthusiasm for emerging media and technology


• Must have the ability to multitask and think creatively in a fast-paced work environment


• Enjoy and adapt to an ever-changing landscape and growing responsibilities


• Ability to self-manage time and complete commitments

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
