Role Summary

The Enterprise Data Strategy team within Global Data & Analytics (GD&A) is built to help CIGNA drive that improvement in the accessibility and quality of our data assets and tools, and allow us to deliver data solutions faster than we do today. Our ultimate goal is to ensure Cigna's ability to grow is unconstrained by any limitations of our data. The CIGNA Enterprise Data Strategy team is comprised of business and technical teams spanning Customer, Provider, Buyer and Intermediary Data Domains as well as foundational enterprise data teams. The Customer Data Domain team establishes customer data strategy through an Enterprise lens and ensures roadmap delivery for all enterprise customer data domain initiatives.

The Data Product Owner - Customer Data Domain is a business-facing role that requires a candidate with strong data management background who understands data, how to ingest data, proper use/consumption, data quality, and stewardship. In this highly visable role you will partner with the Customer Domain Owner to understand their challenges and guide the Agile workstream to establish products and deliverables in support of the domain. Additionally this role will actively participate in the Customer Data Domain governance and strategy framework. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with data management, data governance and data quality. This role will focus on the work with the data operations team. The role will be responsible to drive and ensure execution on issues related to production issues/incidents.

Responsibilities


  • Partner with Enterprise Data Strategy (EDS) Customer Data Domain Product Managers to decompose Program Epic work requirements and priorities into features

  • Full accountability for execution of assigned Features and associated products/deliverables

  • Take ownership of assigned features and lead the creation and prioritization of the team backlog

  • Engage with SCRUM Masters and team members on a regular basis to ensure assigned features are fully executed within the prescribed Program Increment

  • Lead prioritization of work for delivery team based on business value and engagement with stakeholders

  • Work with the EDS Agile Portfolio Operations team to monitor resource capabilities and arrange for coaching, training or resource adjustments

  • Responsible for user story management, including accurate story descriptions and acceptance criteria

  • Facilitate and guide the development of metrics, structure of studies, benchmark initiatives, and data collection methodologies in support of business requirements

  • Actively participate in program increment planning, roadmap activities, and program prioritization and sequencing activities

  • Escalate risks to Customer Data Domain Solutions Train Engineer and Product Manager

Qualifications


  • 6+ years' experience in a product owner role

  • 3+ years' experience with data management, data governance and/or data quality in a data management organization preferrably within the healthcare industry

  • Excellent ability to develop and build teams by assessing quality talent and motivating/inspiring others

  • Sound understanding of Agile Methodology and other project management methodologies

  • Previous experience with Agile Central or comparable agile management tools

  • SAFe Agile Certification preferred

  • Demonstrated core project management skills including project planning, scope management, issue and risk management, resource planning, financial management, etc.

  • Experience working in an organization going through an agile transformation and ability to adapt when working with teams that are not agile where required highly desired

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
