Today, Piedmont Plastics is looking for a Human Resources Specialist & Campus Recruiter to join our team in Charlotte, NC. 

This role will contribute to the success of Piedmont Plastics’ innovative campus recruiting function and be responsible for supporting business objectives through proactively sourcing, assessing, and recruiting students for internships and full-time roles along with assisting the HR team with benefits administration, employee relations, and HRIS.

 In this position, you will be required to: 



  •  Develop and maintain contacts with schools, workforce centers, community outreach groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants; builds and maintains ongoing relationships with professors and key school contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates; works with company managers to gain introductions

  • Use various social media platforms to highlight company culture, engage with students, and identify candidates for internship program

  • Create and post internship positions on college websites and other third-party postings

  • Be held accountable to key metrics that define success/failure such as turnover, candidate experience, quality of new employees, retention of top performers, and time to fill

  • Works with Learning and Development Specialist to assist when needed for recruiting purposes

  • Ensure the PPI corporate brand, culture, values, and strategic intent are reinforced in all recruiting and hiring activities

  • Recruit candidates for positions while ensuring that recruiting practices are in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines

This position will also assist different Human Resources departments during which may include:


  • Assist HR & Benefits Manager during the annual open enrollment process

  • Act as a backup to the HRIS  Manager assisting with support and running reports

  • Working with the Director of HR to provide guidance to supervisors and employees on policies

  • Assist the Talent Acquisition Manager with offer letters and other onboarding duties at times of high volume or absence

  • Assist the Corporate Health, Safety, and Quality Manager on all Workers Compensation (WC) claims by providing access to information in employee database,

To be successful in this position, an ideal candidate will have:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a four-year college or university 

  • At least two years of HR Generalist experience

  • One year of campus/college recruiting experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills including communicating, interviewing and listening

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint 

  • At least two years of experience using an HRIS system
