    Employee-owned Kitchell seeks an experienced and dedicated Document Control professional to join our Southern California region in Los Angeles and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.

    Our Client is seeking experienced Document Control personnel to provide construction management support services. The work assignment will be done through teleworking until further notice from Division management, after which the work assignment location will be in downtown area.

    These are full-time staff extension positions.


    • Assist project managers in the preparation of change orders, notices to proceed, requests for quotation, Board letters, and other general correspondence

    • Assist project managers in the processing of payment requests, change orders, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs)

    • Assist project managers with meeting minutes, project status update entries, and payment, change orders, RFIs, and submittal logs

    • Establish and maintain a project document filing system in accordance with established County procedures

    • Prepare reports in accordance with established County procedures and forms

    • Manage all documents for all projects in the project management system running parallel to DPW's document control software

    • Enter and track following documents: Submittals, RFI's, pending change orders, change orders, notices to proceed, and invoices that were reviewed and/or prepared by Cost Control Manager and Project Managers

    • Document Controller maintains all logs

    • Establish and maintain hard file systems

    • Other various duties and projects as assigned

  • Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years (DC I) or 10 years (DC II) of document control experience in the construction field is required

    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software is required

    • Detail oriented with effective organization and coordination skills are required

    • Knowledge/use of Expedition/CM13 is strongly preferred

    • The ability to interface and communicate effectively with others, and have a positive attitude is required

    • Experience with public agencies is required

    • Experience in preparing and reviewing written correspondences for formatting, punctuation, grammar, etc. is required

    • Ability to work in a fast pace environment and meet tight deadlines is required

    • Ability to handle changing and increasing workload is required

    • Experience with OneDrive and/or other digital platforms is strongly preferred

    • Knowledge/use of other Project Control Software like Procore, Submittal Exchange is strong preferred
