We're hiring a Logistics Specialist to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI.

What you will be doing:

Develops, coordinates, and implements change requests that come from internal and external partners so that our customers receive product on-time, complete, and based on their requirements and the team's goals and policies. Works with the distribution centers to ensure shipments are executable. Requires quick thinking and timely responses to situations, ascertaining the best outcome and being able to action it within a short period of time.
Tracks and monitors incoming trailers. Tender shipments to carriers for quick recovery of freight. Quickly identify and fix system issues that stop distribution centers from performing their tasks.Uses MS Excel to further analyze and improve shipment plans.
Investigation of processes to ensure they are working optimally, implement correction, and educate others on best practices.
Lean in the office is part of the Steelcase Transportation team's culture. We are constantly identifying waste in our processes and using lean principles to drive it out. Actively participating in identifying waste, collecting and analyzing data to determining root cause and implementing corrective action is expected.

Skills/Abilities:



SAP system knowledge is preferredKnowledge of transportation, distribution and order management process is preferredStrong in Microsoft ExcelStrong in creative problem solving skillsStrong in organizational and analysis skillsCommunicates effectively with various levels in organizationAbility to prioritize and apply logic and critical thinkingAble to understand the full scope and impact of assigned initiativesSelf-motivated, works well without supervision
