Cornerstone Building Brands is growing and is seeking finish welders to join our dynamic night shift team at our 422 Kirby Dr, Lexington, TN 38351 location!
This position engages in the full scope of MIG welding on a variety of structural steel parts and assemblies used in the commercial construction industry. Welded parts may include thin gauge, painted, or galvanized materials.
Your Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
In this role you are responsible for the coordination of welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow with observed condition of bead.
Your ability to accurately fit parts through blueprint and 3D drawing tools is essential.
Each day your success will depend on the ability to collaborate with your team and your attention to quality and rework needs.
Use of an overhead crane and forklift is a daily requirement.
You must be able to obtain and maintain CWB/AWS welding certification in accordance with Cornerstone welding procedures.
Your Education and Experience:
High school diploma or recognized equivalent required
Minimum one (1) year experience welding in a production environment, valid welding certification, or combination of both
And don't forget the Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to read and comprehend written documents.
Ability to interpret shop drawings and blueprints.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with technology.
General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments.
Adept at performing in process and final dimensional visual inspection.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform work instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools.
Ability to wear PAPR unit following medical respirator clearance
