An ideal candidate will have 8 or more years of commercial lending and/or commercial workout experience.  We are seeking a self-starter who can work independently and creatively while being a team player.  In this role, having strong knowledge of credit underwriting, legal and collection strategies, as well as process-oriented organizational skills is desired.  The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with members and fellow team members will help facilitate success in this role.  Strong knowledge of real estate appraisal and collateral valuation standards is also desired to achieve success in the role’s responsibilities over collateral management.  
 



Description:



Responsible for collection and workout activities for troubled business loans.  The role is responsible for the development, documentation and implementation of comprehensive strategies to resolve problem credit relationships and/or upgrade higher risk loan relationships while limiting losses to the Credit Union and meeting regulatory guidelines and corporate goals.  Responsibilities include development and implementation of policies, procedures, and systems to manage and report on loan workout activities, repossessions and the liquidation of collateral.  This role will work closely with the VP -Credit Risk Management, Collection Manager and Corporate Counsel on these strategies.   The role also has responsibility for collateral management, including real estate appraisal management processes and other collateral monitoring processes as assigned. 



 



Work Schedule:



This is a full time, exempt level position.  Hours will generally be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. Some remote work is available.   



 



Required Education/Experience/Skills:




  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field or equivalent commercial/business lending experience.


  • Minimum of eight years’ experience working in commercial lending/business collections, including knowledge and experience with workout techniques and structures used in commercial lending.


  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending, credit analysis and credit risk mitigation.  


  • Strong knowledge of real estate and non-real estate valuation methodologies along with associated regulatory guidance.


  • Strong knowledge of legal principles and practices, including but not limited to foreclosure, repossession and bankruptcy.

  • Strong knowledge of collateral valuation principles and the factors that influence values of Real Estate and non-real estate collateral.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong negotiating skills.


  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated judgement and decision making.


  • Knowledge of and willingness to comply with all applicable federal and state regulations and policy guidelines.


  • Communicate and live RCU’s core purpose and values, these define and drive our organizational culture. 


Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:




  • Ten years of commercial lending/business collection experience, including knowledge and experience in workout techniques and structures used in commercial lending


  • Experience with commercial real estate appraisals and regulatory standards applicable to CRE appraisals.
