• Identifying, recommending, and implementing ideas in manufacturing area of responsibility to improve Product cost, service, and quality.


• Ensuring process safety by leading PSM activities on all assigned products


• Supporting compliance activities by keeping up-to-date material balances


• Environmental performance with emphasis on waste reduction


• Improving productivity through continuous improvement activities

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role, but not required include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Mechanical Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution


• Two (2) years of Engineering work experience in a private, public, government or military environment


• Experience as a Chemical Engineer in a Chemical based Manufacturing facility


• Experience with Reactor Systems


• Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS)


• Experience with applied data analysis and/or statistical process control (SPC)


• Six Sigma methodologies experience


• LEAN systems development, implementation and execution

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
