Claims Paralegal at Stewart

Job Summary:
Processes documents and reports for the managing Claims Counsels and managing attorneys. Performs administrative duties for the legal group.


 


Job Roles:
• Process all new complaints, subpoenas, and related litigation matters;
• Maintain Master Complaint Log;
• Obtain all new file numbers
• Set Reserves
• Create weekly answer log and update as necessary;
• Create initial tickles in LFS;
• Create and maintain monthly and quarterly reports for RMs as approved byresponsible attorney;
• Create and maintain monthly and quarterly reports for GC as approved byresponsible attorney;
• Create and maintain scheduling calendars in LFS;
• Provide monthly VAX reports of LAEs in excess of $100,000;
• Provide monthly NRB reports and resolve issues;with National Accounting the files numbers involved;
• Provide monthly open reports;
• Assist in discovery data collection;
• Assist in Counsellink matters as requested by managing attorney;
• Create mediation binders as required by managing attorney;
• Provide filing for both paper and electronic data;
• Coordinate payments related to litigation matters;
• Close files
• Request and manage routine status reports for managing attorneys;
• Provide back up assistance to front desk;
• Answer attorneys phones; and
• Provide all other assistance as requested by attorneys.

Role Specific Knowledge:
• Competency in Microsoft Word
• Competency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to create PowerPoint presentations
• Penchant for attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• The monitoring of and strict adherence to deadlines is essential, as is the ability to recognize when assistance is
• needed to meet those deadlines
• The strength to manage attorney schedules is an integral part of the job
• Supports several attorneys the flexibility and ability to work with different personalities is essential
• Education, Licensure, and Experience
• Completion of an undergraduate degree in an equivalent field
• Possession of a Paralegal certificate
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in claims processing/research which includes experience in paralegal process.
