Technical Support Coordinator
Rider University invites applications for a Technical Support Coordinator. Successful candidate's main priority is providing media support for faculty, students, and staff by supporting campus wide media needs which includes: supporting all audio visual technology in classrooms and meeting spaces with installed or supplemented technology; providing high level audio and video recording, editing and video conferencing support; encoding media for use with University's learning management system; organizing requests for service as well as operate technology for promoting University initiatives (e.g. Open House, Convocation, Commencement and Town Hall meetings). Candidate's second priority is providing technical support for students, faculty and all levels of staff for PC/Mac hardware, software, printers and light network issues which includes: supporting student and teaching labs and studios; monitoring Help Desk ticketing system database for any incoming requests; communicating with the Office of Information Technology team members as needed; hiring, training, scheduling and supervising student workers; supporting all print locations on campus with assistance from the student worker team; interacting with external vendors as needed; and supporting technology in all labs and teaching spaces.
Successful candidate must possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technology field or comparable experience and coursework, along with a minimum of 5 years' experience in media/AV technologies, preferably in higher education. Additional experience/skills include: experience with Audio/Video Production, both live and recording backgrounds, as well as Production Equipment, Video Conferencing, Cable TV Systems, Audio Technologies; skill in the operation and setup of computers, Mac and PC, as standard tools including a sound understanding of software, peripherals, printing and networking; proficiency in the use of basic hand and power hand tools required to perform installations and repairs; demonstrated organizational skills, experienced record keeping and attention to detail; and a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
