This position provides analytic leadership and hands-on technical data analysis skills for Claims Advanced Analytics and Operational Reporting projects. The role is responsible for navigating and understanding data requests from business analysts and stakeholders for project development activities. We are seeking an individual who is eager to learn, grow and in a fast-paced environment. The individual needs to have the ability to learn technical concepts quickly and have the desire for independent continuous learning due to the fast-paced nature of changing technologies and methods in Information Technology.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Navigate and interpret complex data models associated with both internal and external applications and systems
Obtain data from appropriate internal and external source systems and define transformation rules to target data structures used to support Analytics and Reporting
Complete internal and external data requests and analyze data results
Document complex data transformation rules from source to target systems and data structures
Prepare results of analysis in formats appropriate for various audiences and occasions
Capable of performing effectively in a fast-paced environment under strict and overlapping deadlines
Engages with business users and other Subject Matter Experts to understand data requirements and data sources
Works with 3rd party vendors and in-house developers, other business/technical analysts, and testing resources to deliver key objectives and assignments
Work with ETL development teams to provide data mappings, rules, and clarifications
Build and maintain relevant data dictionaries
Understand and apply corporate IT standards, ensure SOX and Audit compliance
Identify areas of opportunity to streamline and automate internal processes and documentation
Position Qualifications:
3 - 5 years of experience in data analysis
Experience with cloud-based data platforms
Experience in data mappings, documenting transformation rules, requirements gatherings, and testing
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business, Information Management, or a related field.
High Proficiency in SQL database design and SQL programming, including stored procedure and table joins
Ability to work with programmers to communicate application and processing needs and work through issue resolution
Strong data acumen needed to investigate, manipulate, and transform data
Ability to use logic and analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses of arguments or information
Proven ability to take ownership of data investigations, understand interdependencies within data and see them through to resolution
Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Strong self-starter with a sense of ownership
