Provides advanced technical support toward the accomplishment of research team objectives. Incumbent will be responsible for several research projects related to orthopedic/spine research.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities


  • Plan and execute biomechanical research projects including protocol development, experimentation, statistical analysis, reports and publications.

  • Develop research protocols with surgeons and internal team members.

  • Maintain a state-of-the art research laboratory with existing equipment and selection of new equipment as required.

  • Monitor scientific and medical literature for advancement relevant to the assigned research objectives.

  • Collect appropriate data and provide analysis with conclusions and recommendations for further action.

  • Provide support for External Research Projects.

Expected Areas of Competence


  • Must possess an advanced knowledge of engineering, biomechanics, motion analysis, FEA and research technologies applicable to assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Maintain/update techniques for lab applications by reviewing literature and staying current with advances in surgery, biomechanics and biomaterials.

  • Assess new testing technologies and design innovative experiments to translate complex in-vivo scenarios into representative experiments.

  • Possess good oral and written communication skills.

Education/Experience Requirements


  • M.S. degree in mechanical/biomedical engineering or related technical field is required, Ph.D preferred.

  • 3 -5 years of relevant research/testing experience preferred.

Travel Requirements


  • Up to 10%

Compensation Range: $71,800-$97,200
