Hilton's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) team oversees the company's strategy to drive responsible travel and tourism globally by creating positive impact on the planet and our communities. Our ESG program is called Travel with Purpose. By 2030, Hilton has committed to double our investment in social impact and cut our environmental impact in half.

What will I be doing?

The ESG Analyst will be responsible for compiling, reviewing, and analyzing Hilton's environmental and social impact data. This position will be a key member of Hilton's Global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team, and will play a critical role in achieving Hilton's Travel with Purpose 2030 goals.

More specifically you will:


  • Manage, review, cleanse and analyze environmental and social data captured in Hilton's LightStay ESG management system
  • Prepare energy, carbon, water, waste, and social impact data for inclusion in internal and external reporting, including quarterly leadership dashboards and annual reporting in Hilton's regulatory filings, ESG Report, CDP, DJSI, and other frameworks
  • Work with Hilton's third-party providers to undertake assurance of environmental and social data prior to external publication
  • Support Hilton's continued certification to ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management), and ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
  • Support Hilton's global sustainability efforts by analyzing LightStay performance and collaborating with the brand and operational teams to drive sustainability initiatives at our hotels around the world

What are we looking for?

We believe the success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:


  • Experience handling and analyzing environmental and social impact metrics, reporting, and measurement, particularly carbon and energy management
  • Outstanding analytical skills; able to perform sophisticated analysis of utility data; inquisitive and able to discover the root cause for utility performance
  • Strong communications skills and ability to deliver the results of findings for management
  • Exceptional project management and collaboration skills; detail-focused and organized
  • Sound judgment and professionalism with the ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate a high level of initiative, and pursue proactive problem-solving
  • Ability to work across global, virtual, and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to lead meetings
  • Positive demeanor, outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills, and strong work ethic with self-accountability for high-quality results

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • One (1) year of experience working with environmental data
  • One (1) year working in data analytical tools
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office

It would be useful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Degree in ESG-related field, sustainability, finance, and/or engineering preferred
  • Familiarity with the engineering requirements of buildings, EPA EnergyStar portfolio manager benchmarking tool, and business intelligence and data visualization tools preferred
