Description

This position is responsible for processing customer payments, reconciling customer accounts and GL accounts.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Applies and matches customer payments and reviews accounts and data for accuracy.

  • Generates and distributes statements to customers.

  • Reconciles customer accounts and works with credit managers on customer account issues, as needed.

  • Submits Invoices into Client Portals.

  • Resolves client invoice/account inquires over the phone and in writing.

  • Processes client payments over the phone and via email.

  • Creates Manual Invoices/Credits as needed for Sales Tax Adjustments.

  • Opens and distributes mail as needed.

  • Reconciles and maintains customer accounts as assigned.

  • Performs specials projects as assigned.

  • Supports accounting department staff as needed.

  • Trains A/R staff as needed.

  • Adheres to all customer care standards.

  • Actively cares and advocates safety at Western States.

  • Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.

  • Serves as a team member in support of Western States' strategic programs, projects, and initiatives.

  • Works within and promotes corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft computer products or other comparable systems required. Microsoft Excel intermediate level preferred.

  • ERP software experience required, preferably Microsoft AX.

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Consistent attendance.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 3 years minimum experience in a typical accounting function such as A/P, A/R, payroll, or bookkeeping, preferred.

  • 6 months minimum experience in accounting software, required.

  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).


PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:



  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.

  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
