The FOOD AND BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR'S essential purpose is to provide technical, supervisory, and administrative support to the food and beverage management team. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:



  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner. 

  • To continuously interact with guests to ensure professional, personalized service throughout their meal. 

  • To assist, as directed, to support food and beverage staff, to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity. 

  • To oversee dining room to ensure professional standards of restaurant operation, including coordinating reservations; organizing special seating arrangements; and supervising close-out procedures. 

  • To satisfactorily complete daily paperwork, as required, including logs and reports. 

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. English fluency required. Must have minimum three years experience in fine dining food service, including at least one year in supervisory position. Must be familiar with all aspects of restaurant and bar operations, and an overall knowledge of foods and cocktails. Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances. Current CPR certification preferred. Hotel experience preferred. 


SKILLS AND APTITUDES: Detail oriented. Organized and efficient. Safety-minded. High quality standards for production and service. Diplomatic and calm. Good team player. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Customer service focus. Ability to effectively manage staff to maintain a high level of morale and productivity. 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands and walks approximately 85% of shift. Sits at desk approximately 15% of shift. Occasionally required to handle and move objects weighing up to 30 lbs. over short to moderate distances. Must be able to work well under pressure. Flexibility required to work long, sometimes irregular hours.
