Investor Relations Officer (IRO) - Director
This role has been designated as ‘Edge’, which means you will primarily work outside of an HPE office.
Job Description:
Investor relations at HPE is responsible for communicating HPE's performance, risks and opportunities to the investment community with the goal of building sustainable shareholder value. HPE participates in a vast number of markets with a broad set of competitors making the IRO role very dynamic that requires a comprehensive set of financial, strategic, and communication skills. Investor Relations partners across many internal HPE organizations to develop effective external messages and acts as a conduit of external information and sentiment back into the HPE management team and broader employee community.
Responsibilities
• Forge relationships with key analysts to promote understanding of the stock and extend its coverage
• Understand the shareholder base and cultivate relationships with active owners
• Evaluate financial community sentiment and shareholder investment objectives
• Develop potential investor targets and actively pursue expansion of the shareholder base
• Plan and manage investor road shows, conferences, bus tours and meetings
• Monitor HPE's stock ownership and trading trends
• Analyze and understand HPE’s quarterly financial results in detail from an external perspective
• Monitor performance and strategy of competitors along with broader market trends
• Track and manage analyst consensus estimates for aid in developing financial guidance
• Develop a thorough understanding of the strategy for both overall HPE and its individual business
• Advise HPE management on investor impact of strategic actions
• Develop quarterly earnings presentation, press release, scripts, salient points and FAQs
• Prepare HPE executives for meetings with the financial community
• Review critical internal and external communications that impact investors
• Prepare internal briefs on HPE performance, competitor analysis and industry trends
• Speak intelligently on behalf of HPE about technology trends, market dynamics, competitive positioning
• Provide feedback to the HPE management on the views of the investment community
• Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills with a detailed understanding of financial statements
• Ability to handle fast-paced, intense, unpredictable work environments
• Clear and concise communicator with solid external and senior executive presence
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and deliver results with minimal direction
• Effective team player and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
• Understanding of capital markets and shareholder value creation principles
• Bachelor's degree, MBA (preferred but not required)
• Minimum of ten years of work experience in finance or the technology industry
