Responsible for performing a variety of technical support duties in one or more manufacturing areas. Duties may be related to installation, maintenance, repair and support of manufacturing equipment, technical support of one or more production processes, product test and troubleshooting, and technical analyses and problem-solving. Conducts tests, experiments and/or problem resolution associated with components, parts, products or processes/systems. May design and/or build tools.


Evaluates manufacturing organization technical assignments and determines actions required


Duties involve analysis and new/ customized approaches


Solves complex problems requiring breadth/ depth of knowledge of technical discipline(s), operations, procedures


Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:



  • Perform a variety of technical support duties in manufacturing, utility, and laboratory areas. Duties may be related to installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and support of manufacturing equipment, technical support of production processes, technical analyses and problem-solving.

  • Execution and coordination of process maintenance activities including PMs, emergency repairs, spare parts, and electronic asset management system.

  • Support activities including authoring / reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Deviations, and Corrective and Preventative Action plans (CAPAs) as required.


The successful candidate will possess the following:



  • Support multi-discipline manufacturing processes with respect to the repair, maintenance, installation and/or enhancement of machinery and equipment or interrelated systems.

  • Evaluate, inspect, repair and maintain manufacturing equipment.

  • Be a self-starter, accountable for their activities and manage a varied workload of preventative and "on-demand" maintenance activities.

  • Demonstrate a positive, service-based, "customer first" attitude.

  • Work integrally with other departments and internal clients in a team environment.

  • Solve complex problems requiring breadth/depth of knowledge of technical disciplines, operations, procedures.

  • Communicate effectively and keep employees updated regarding the status of repairs and work orders (scheduled and un-scheduled).

  • Treat repairs and maintenances with attention to detail and an exceptional level of professionalism.

  • Document each maintenance activity accurately and in a compliant manner within the maintenance database.

Physical Demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.


Shift Hours: M-F 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM PT

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • 3+ years related experience and/or training in a maintenance/engineering environment supporting manufacturing operations.

  • High School Education or equivalent (GED).

  • Ability and willingness to handle gas cylinders, chemicals and solvents.

  • Ability to perform electrical maintenance and troubleshooting on process, chemical, and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical and controls schematics, site drawings, equipment manuals, and safety procedures.

  • Demonstrated communication skills, including verbal and written communication, with vendors, internal customers, and employees.

  • Knowledge of OSHA, local safety guidelines, and lock-out tag-out.

  • Desire to work overtime as required.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in a chemistry manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with automation, robotics, high vacuum systems, laser systems, industrial control systems (PLC's), machining and fabrication equipment and tools.
