Primary Purpose:

The Test Automation Capability Owner will work with other Living Systems team members to scope, prioritize, groom, and validate completeness of automated test user stories utilizing Agile principles, in alignment with the duties and responsibilities described.

The Capability Owner is a member of a capability team, primarily responsible for delivery of services that enable the organization. Maintains a roadmap for the team, prioritizing backlog of work based on value to enterprise. Works closely with stakeholders to draft objectives and strategies as a primary input for their roadmap, working to ensure delivery of services to teams across organization. Users across enterprise can request and receive standard services from this cross-product team. As a point of contact for end users, maintains and runs services managed by team. Ensures that all agreed upon services are being delivered and are prioritized appropriately, and that satisfaction levels and expectations are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Delivers IT technical services to teams across organization. Supports efforts to empower teams with knowledge, tools, services, and resourcing to enable activities within respective capability. A capability is a technical service, system, application, function or process and may include enterprise-wide standards (e.g., IT quality assurance, cybersecurity compliance, etc.). Plans and manages all activities within an assigned delivery scope as determined by team and related leadership. Collaborates with company customers, staff, IT colleagues, vendor partners, and other stakeholders to identify related delivery requirements, assess potential impacts, consider user needs, and compare costs and evaluate benefits.

* Operates with clear understanding of team's delivery vision and goals, leveraging that understanding to inform team's roadmap and strategy for alignment with capability roadmap guidelines as set by leadership. Identifies and qualifies potential opportunities for team's backlog (i.e. a dynamic, prioritized list of everything that is known to be needed in product including descriptions, business benefit, estimated effort, and noted order.), focused on net new services and features for work planning. Maintains delivery roadmap of work and services. Verifies that for each delivery commitment, there is a defined and agreed-on set of criteria used to assess readiness for go/no-go with new or enhanced service requests work to be accepted into backlog.

* Documents work to inform priority and planning. Defines work according to quality standards for clarity. Acts as a trusted advisor and liaison between their team and primary consumers/end users of the capability/technology. End users may include enterprise business users, vendors, employees or other teams within IT). Coordinates requests and needs with cross functional teams, leading communications with partners and handling intake and prioritization of requests. Communicates value of particular services and work to team and end users, ensuring work is well understood and success criteria are clear. Organizes and aligns delivery to the team plan, priorities, and backlog.

* Drives delivery of work with a prioritization of value creation, providing capability specific input and guidance to working teams. Operates following known industry practices, such as kanban or scrum. Kanban and scrum are frameworks used for organizing work in an agile way, focused on managing flow of knowledge and operational work and driving continuous improvement for a team.

* Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, related field or equivalent training and/or experience.

* 3 years progressive experience in IT service delivery, risk and compliance, IT operations, IT project delivery and/or equivalent experience required.

* Effective Communication Skills - Ability to clearly articulate ideas and convey messages across audiences, utilizing formal and informal communication modes such as presentations, written documents, and one-on-one conversations. Ability to effectively solicit ideas and feedback from others and use to continually improve processes.

* Capability Industry Insights - Demonstrates a strong understanding of emerging trends in their capability landscape, including new technologies, processes, and ways of working. Knowledge of capability industry trends and insights with the ability to apply knowledge to the company's systems, applications, infrastructure, and practices.

* Stakeholder Management - Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders (including clients) in order to drive outcomes and create alignment around a vision or course of action.

Preferred Qualifications:

* 1 year experience with agile frameworks

* Value Realization - Strong ability to identify the benefits provided by a proposed user story or feature (units and groupings of work defined in an agile way, with stories being the smallest unit i.e., a unit of work that can be delivered by a single team in a single two week sprint.) relative to the effort that it will require from the team in order to drive the effective prioritization of work to maximize the benefits delivered by the team to the customer.

* Agile Methodologies - Knowledge of concepts, including Agile Scrum and/or Kanban, and application of Agile methodology (e.g., Lean, Safe, LeSS) for project management to be able to design, implement and manage projects.
