Job Description:


Scope:

This position is responsible to review and complete purchase orders and contact suppliers to place orders. Expedites the delivery of purchased items in order to meet delivery schedules. Works under limited supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)


  • Reviews purchase requisitions, estimates costs and purchases material as required.

  • Maintains knowledge on how to use systems to perform specific purchasing tasks (e.g. processing requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, contracts, rejections) and to utilize system information/output to investigate or resolve business issues.

  • Obtains quotes and assists in negotiating most suitable prices, terms and delivery schedules.

  • Monitors the quality, delivery and price of products and services contracted.

  • Expedites Purchase Orders when necessary.

  • Ensures delivery of products to end-user.

  • Interfaces with all departments to ensure schedules are maintained as well as outside sources/services.

  • Develops and maintains customer relationships.

  • Continually keeps informed on new products, substitute products and model changes.

  • Responsible for maintaining Supplier Review Program involving the correct number of good suppliers including the ability to forecast material cost via good rapport with such suppliers.

  • Cross train in other areas.

  • Complies with ITAR/Export Compliance requirements.

  • Regular attendance is an essential function.

  • Works with the Purchasing Manager on special projects.

Export/ITAR Requirements:

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to:


  • Being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.

  • Recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation.

  • Understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL).

  • Understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US.

  • Manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.

EHS Requirements:


  • Accomplish all job related paperwork in the most accurate, timely and ethical manner.

  • Communicate regularly to supervisors/managers any safety hazards and issues, suggests procedural changes, maintains a clean, safe work environment.

  • Properly handle and dispose all waste, including hazardous wastes that are generated in daily operations as directed by the EHS department.

  • Responsible to report all accidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. Perform job duties utilizing the required and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Full participation in safety training and the ability to understand and follow directions identified in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA), PPE Assessments, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and all Safety Procedures and Alerts.


Essential Knowledge & Skills:


  • College degree in business administration, materials management, related fields preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two (2) years direct Purchasing experience with proven record of good negotiation skills preferred.

  • Experience with electro-mechanical procurement is desirable.

  • Good analytical and English communication skills (written and oral), ability to read and understand procedures.

  • Possess good math skills and computer skills with working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Word and MS Excel.

  • Ability to work up to 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, flexible to work weekends, and is available to work extra hours at the Company's request.

  • Must be able to independently resolve issues/problems with good judgment.

  • Must be able to work effectively under high pressure, be a team player with good interpersonal skills.

  • Detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize.

  • Ability to interface professionally with all levels of the organization.

  • Good follow through; have a sense of urgency and timeliness.

  • Ability to work efficiently with little supervision. Must be able to think independently.

  • Must have good customer service attitude, with all internal customers.

  • Must be able to negotiate effectively with suppliers and customers.

  • Due to ITAR requirements, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident.

  • Regular attendance is an essential function for this position.
