Position Summary:


Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market. Directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and valves. Establishes strategies to expand the customer base and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for clients and account managers. Maintains reasonable account manager responsibilities.


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:


Assist in the development of business and sales strategy plans; responsible for the performance and development of account managers; prepares actions plans for sales leads and prospects; assists in the implementation of marketing plans as needed; provides timely feedback to senior management.  In this role the sales manager will also be responsible for - Making regular sales calls with direct sales personnel and distributor salespeople to contractors, engineering firms, OEM's, and end user customers. Working with engineering companies, OEM' s, and end users to ensure that all products, as applicable, are included in their specifications for MRO and project opportunities and are also listed as an approved supplier on their vendor list. Conducting market and application related product training. Developing and maintaining an active project list. Coordinating the actions required to secure the project with other departments and / or regions, as necessary. Additionally, the market manager is also responsible for independently developing new opportunities by identifying - New customers Industry or market related trends, new product applications, competitive analysis, new product needs and product extension requirements controls expenses to meet budget guidelines; adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.  Work with various process controls manufacturers on sales plans, budgets, reviews, and strategic goals.


Qualifications and Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):


Qualifications:  Permanent Work authorization for the US required, College Diploma, 2 or 3 years of direct work experience, 1-3 years related experience, product, or industry knowledge an asset.   5-7 years of sales management experience                             


Core Competencies: experience in opportunity qualification, ability to build and maintain relationships, exceptional verbal communication and written skills, excellent listening skills, ability to work individually and a part of a team, customer focus, professionalism, mechanical aptitude, willingness to adapt, decision making and problem solving, independence of action, consequence of error or budget responsibilities, confidentiality, contacts-internal and external, physical skill and energy. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements, willingness to travel, proven leadership and ability to drive sales team, coaching and staffing skills, sales planning, and managing processes.   Must have experience in Process Control Instrumentation to be considered for the position.   Must be computer literate.
