Enhancing overall safety, quality, and productivity in the Sandwich Making department by providing technical expertise and guidance, implementing effective predictive and preventative PM programs, and building capability in all technicians.
Safely improve process reliability and run efficiency by eliminating stops
Develop and improve technical mastery by working within the team's technical resources and technicians
Lead improvement and loss elimination efforts within the assigned department
Maximizing equipment availability, minimizing unplanned downtime, and extending equipment life through a sustainable PM program, and implementation of loss elimination projects.
Driving high-performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions, and become self-reliant.
Has an expert level understanding of equipment in your designated department, providing technical support to teams.
Building mastery level skills in advanced technicians, advanced technical skills in equipment owners, and basic technical skills in all technicians.
Provide PM coaching and direction for the Mechanical Coordinator
Ensuring technical documentation, PMs and spares for department equipment and systems are identified and in place.
Responsible for development and improvement of maintenance procedures to facilitate the PM program.
Coaching teams and department leadership on effective PM planning and scheduling.
Developing and executing the technical budget for the department.
Addressing gaps in department performance, through the implementation and effective coaching of Smucker Continuous Improvement methodologies; foster a zero-loss culture.
Owning a safety and/or quality key element.
Actively participating in developing and executing advanced mechanical training and qualification programs; participating in assessments, ensuring effective training, and maintaining consistent qualification standards.
Developing and maintaining equipment standards and participating in design reviews for capital projects
Leading cross functional teams to deliver cost savings initiatives and departmental projects
Assisting in coordinating Commissioning, Qualification and Verification (CQV) activities for plant start-up.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required
Minimum of 3 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing others is required
Minimum of 3 years of food manufacturing experience is preferred
Mechanical and electrical experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred
Other

Strong analytical troubleshooting, technical problem-solving, and root cause identification skills

Understands technical systems and terminology

Demonstrated results in manufacturing maintenance utilizing maintenance systems
Experience with plant systems software (Proficy, Project Management, eAM, etc.)
Proven project management skills include managing multiple priorities
Effective presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
Excellent interpersonal skills
Open to managing operating teams as needed (as backup or future assignment)
Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed

The salary range for this position is $83,500 to $119,900
This position is eligible for an annual incentive plan
