As our Sizing Software Applications Engineer in McKinney, TX, you will support the development, implementation, operation, maintenance, improvement, and training of sizing and selection tools that are necessary to execute Tank Product and Regulator Technologies long term strategic plan.

As a Sizing Software Applications Engineer you will


  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the support of sizing/selection tools and develop strong relationships with business and technical teams.

  • Work with business and technical teams to develop sizing and selection software solutions that meet business requirements.

  • Facilitate discussions with end users to translate the voice of the customer into functional scoping documentation.

  • Create and execute a project work plan and be able to adjust to meet changing needs and requirements.

  • Develop enhancement plans to support process changes and improvements and work with development team to execute scheduled updates.

  • Oversee tool testing by working with business and technical teams to develop test cases and provide test support to ensure successful project execution.

  • Develop training materials and provide one-on-one and group training as necessary.

  • Investigate customer complaints, bugs, and errors and provide relevant feedback and solutions.

  • Analyze customer data to offer recommendations of products that meet the application specifications.

  • Respond to technical questions as related to sizing and selection of product based on applicable standards to ensure that selected products are in compliance.

This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar Engineering degree

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong experience with project support in valve industry

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and develop teams to resolve issues with innovative solutions

  • Excellent customer focus skills including interpersonal and communication skills are vital

  • Listening and conflict management skills

  • Problem solving and organizational skills

  • Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and solid math skills

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • Experience with Human-Centered Design

  • Prior experience working at Emerson.
