Job Description:

Responsibilities:


  • Continuously build and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members, as well as with other J.P. Morgan teams, J.P. Morgan senior management, and client
  • Consistently demonstrate and continuously refine best-in-class client service
  • Address and effect change with respect to client behavior issues
  • Review and deliver client-specific reporting
  • Review and deliver regulatory reporting, such as financial statements and regulatory reports
  • Act as liaison between client and external vendors (e.g., printer)
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits
  • Provide guidance to and train team on changes to regulatory requirements
  • Manage client SLAs and delivery of KPIs
  • Proactively communicate with client regarding potential service issues
  • Represent Financial Reporting operations internally on cross-product project teams
  • Support client training initiatives, particularly to maximize client self-service (e.g., VPR, NXT)
  • Provide guidance regarding treatment of complex financial transactions and ensure financial statement disclosure
  • Act as a primary contact for client inquiries, requests, and ad hoc projects relating to financial reporting
  • Develop and implement internal project plan for fund and client events
  • Develop and implement production calendar for financial reporting cycles
  • Approve adjustments and improvements to departmental / team procedures and applicable system enhancements
  • Own the overall management, staffing, organization, and development of a team including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Escalate client concerns to senior management and recommend action plans
  • Identify clients impacted by regulatory changes and other issues, and communicate as necessary
  • Manage, escalate, and remediate issues
  • Partner with Relationship Management and Sales teams on materials for, and actively participate in, client and prospective client presentations
  • Identify and mitigate risks through development of improved processes and procedures
  • Improve efficiencies of workflow streams and identify best practice solutions for department and company-wide issues
  • Develop and document controls, procedures, and training materials for requirements related to existing and new SEC rules
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of services to clients and completion of regulatory reports
  • Oversee correspondence for distribution to client's management and fund board of directors
  • Work with client's legal counsel and external auditors regarding filings, examinations, and reporting

Qualifications:

  • Advanced issue resolution skills and ability to anticipate issues and aggressively drive initiatives to achieve results
  • Advanced analytical, prioritization, organizational, and project management skills
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization and work under pressure within tight timeframes
  • Exceptional leadership and staff development skills with prior team management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated consensus-building and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships both internally and with external clients
  • Control focus with an advanced and thorough understanding of operational risk
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes, procedures, and systems including downstream impacts
  • Advanced technical expertise relating to derivatives accounting and reporting
  • Strong technical understanding of the investment industry including knowledge of SEC and IRS rules / regulations and GAAP accounting standards
  • Proficient using Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • 10+ years of Financial Reporting, Fund Administration, Accounting and/or Custody experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree (Accounting or Finance preferred) or equivalent experience
