We are currently seeking a Telephony Support Engineerto join our team in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
Job Duties:
Design, test, upgrade and integrate new or existing telecommunication networks, systems and equipment in accordance with the organization's business requirements.
Document all aspects of the engineering process as it relates to build and configuration, testing, and deployment of telecommunication networks, systems and equipment.
Coordinate changes such as implementation of new telecommunication networks, systems and equipment, upgrades or version increments to existing telecommunication networks, systems and equipment with stakeholders.
Plans, coordinates, and implements security measures to safeguard telecommunication networks, systems and equipment.
Performs telecommunications modeling, analysis, and planning. Coordinates with architecture and evaluate new and emerging telecommunication technologies and make recommendations for selection of these products.
Troubleshoots complex issues and if needed coordinates vendor engagements to assist in troubleshooting efforts.
Provides day-to-day operational or administrative duties for deployed infrastructure platforms in lab or production environments.
Applies fundamental engineering concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 additional years of experience with an Associates or 8 additional years of experience will substitute a degree).
Six (6) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
Three plus (3+) telephony engineering experience.
Three plus (3+) hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
Two plus (2+) years of experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM system
IAT II (CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) and Computing Environment certifications for the operating system(s) and/or security related tools/devices they support.
Active Secret clearance

Deep understanding of telephony, network, and security protocols.
Strong independent critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a rapid changing environment.
Highly motivated and adaptable in a changing environment.
Strong understanding of preventative measures towards mitigating potential issues.
Customer Service Oriented (Customers are MHS Stake holders, Co-workers and other internal and external contacts)
Certifications: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) version 3 Foundation certification and or ITIL 4 Foundation Certification.
