Big Data Architect

Experience: 10+ years

Lead the design, development, testing and documentation of complex programs from approved specifications, and subsequent iterations, using the operating model process and best practices.

Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture,

Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability & elasticity etc.

Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL/NoSQL and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.

Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.

Must also have experience using the following software/tools:

Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Scala, HDFS - EMR, Cloudera etc.

Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres,S3, Redshift/Spectrum, Cassandra, Marklogic,  Dynamo DB,Neo4j etc.

Experience and expertise in leading complex Data Onboarding  requirements (historical data loads between systems)

Expertise in data mastering & deduping capabilities (MDM experience would be better)

Understanding on the user consent management and preferences management in a regulated industry such as Life sciences

Experience in building, managing and enhancing Data reconciliation & measurement framework

Experience in building Data quality management template and guidelines for data warehouses and hubs

Experience conducting and participating in data privacy & compliance conversations with snr privacy & compliance leadership to meet business & technical objectives in an compliant manner.

Create, manage & enhance data sharing matrix, catalog and dictionary across all systems and applications in our ecosystem. Experience with Data cataloging tool such as Alation is preferred, but not mandatory.

Help manage and establish a framework to support data exchanges across systems.

Work with data governance business counterpart to build and maintain data governance (DG) policies, playbook(s), processes, procedures for guiding various data management processes, including data security and privacy, data quality control and data dissemination activities.

Compiling retention, archival, and disposal requirements and ensure compliance with internal policy and regulations.
