This position qualifies for a $1250 sign-on bonus (hired candidate receives $625 payment once first 90 days of employment is completed, remaining $625 is paid after 135 days) as well as a shift premium equivalent to 10% of the employee's base hourly rate.

The Opportunity:

Perform all Senior Production Operator and below job responsibilities, where applicable. Position requires high level of technical skill sets and ability to perform set up, start up, troubleshooting and operation of basic and intermediate manufacturing processes and equipment, including knowledge of job practices, TWI procedures, concepts, or principles. Consistently practices safety in the work place, applies lean tools and techniques to identify and solve operational problems and measurable improve processes. Has the knowledge and skill sets to execute across multiply intermediate and some advanced technologies within the department. Can provide training for all basic and intermediate levels of technology processes. May operate approximately 25% of the next level equipment or processes in continued development towards the next level.

What does it take to work for Panduit?

Required Degree: High school education or GED equivalent (US) or country equivalent.


  • Production Technician training curriculum

Experience: 3 to 5 years of related manufacturing experience


  • Advanced work is carried out which may involve the use of equipment. Work may involve maintaining complex records, dealing with non-routine queries, analyzing data, or preparing standard reports. Up to 2 years of practical experience typically required and backed up by intensive training for a few months.

  • There is diversity in activities carried out, although they are broadly related to one another. A wide variety of skills must be used.

  • Normal levels of coordination are required in using equipment, hand tools with specialized skills necessary.

  • Understands intermediate machines, assemblies, tools and processes, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance. Observes intermediate equipment operations so that malfunctions and other abnormalities are detected. Ability to troubleshoot intermediate equipment as needed. Picks up on technical and mechanical products and processes quickly. Can learn new skills and knowledge; is adept at learning new industry, company, product or technical knowledge; operate equipment using hand/eye coordination.

  • Ability to solve intermediate arithmetic problems including basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions. Understand and interpret graphs, conversions and ratios. Ability to calculate simple formulas and plot data. Understand basic concepts of units of measurement: units, length, volume, and weight. Proficient with calculator and standard measuring tools. Understands the accuracy and completeness of process data, and when given, can discern inaccurate/incomplete data to suggest corrections to resolve the problem. Ability to examine basic specialized job orders to determine details such as quantities to be produced, production times, product specifications, colors and color sequences.

  • Requires ability to do multiple things competently. Having a moderate amount of skills to perform most tasks, jobs, and processes within scope of job. A functional employee within their work area, capable of moving easily and frequently between tasks.

  • Moderate levels of visual examination, concentration, and precision over average durations of time. Moderate levels of fatigue sustained through working at medium speeds, with relatively small/delicate parts, and/or working to deadlines or specified standards.

  • Position is carried out within a well-defined framework, but problems can arise that require the exercise of some judgment in solving them by reference to established priorities and precedents.

  • A fair proportion of the work is standardized, although there are a number of non-routine elements. Freedom of action exists to make independent decisions, but within well established and clearly defined policy and procedural guidelines. Reference to higher authority is required. Some general supervision is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up & troubleshoot area machines and related production equipment and processes of intermediate technologies. (30%)

  • Start-up, operation and shutdown of area machines and related production equipment of intermediate technology equipment and processes, to produce finished product. (25%)

  • Complete packaging, labeling, and carton of products to include label accuracy, package seal integrity, and counts per package and carton (occasional manual packaging and re-packaging of products). (20%)

  • Perform quality inspections in accordance with Panduit's quality systems procedures and complete all data entry functions. Resolve quality issues that occur in production and communicate unresolved and/or questionable product quality to appropriate supervision and/or quality personnel. (10%)

  • Assist in training and development of less experienced employees. Actively involved in area continuous education and training requirements (5%)

  • Actively involved in the identification and elimination of waste. Take part in advancing 5S levels. (5%)

  • Proficient in use of Panduit Oracle operating system to enter, monitor and track manufacturing information, process raw materials and establish maintenance work orders. (5%)
