As Associate Director, Copay Programs you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. North American Commercial is the 'face' of AstraZeneca to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.
The Associate Director, Copay Programs will be responsible for managing brand copay programs, which help to remove cost as a barrier to patients gaining access to necessary AstraZeneca medications. This role, as a key member of the Copay Program Operations team, is highly visible. A core focus will be to develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors that support the successful delivery of our copay programs. As a key leader on the Copay Program Operations team, the role will be responsible for working closely with other leaders within Access Services, Market Access, Access Strategy, and throughout AstraZeneca to ensure alignment of goals and execution of tactics so that business needs are met. This person will be expected to manage compliant programs effectively, focusing on the operational components of the programs while reducing waste and adding value wherever possible.
Serve as the key subject matter expert to the brand teams on the operational realities and opportunities for the delivery of copay programs
Strategic management and oversight of key vendor contracts
Develop and implement processes for managing several vendors supporting copay programs to provide enhanced oversight and governance
Partner with vendors to find effective solutions for brand strategies involving copay programs
Address daily issues and concerns around affordability program operations
Establish and monitor program metrics and utilization against targets for all copay programs
Partner with Insights team to develop copay report templates and provide guidance around measures of program success
Be the subject matter expert on copay industry trends and operations
Remain up to date with all OIG and other regulatory body guidance and opinions regarding copay programs and ensure AstraZeneca compliance
Partner with brand teams to provide operational support and ensure goals, targets and objectives as they relate to copay programs support brand and Corporate goals
Manage ongoing audits to ensure compliant use of copay programs
Partner with brand colleagues to identify budget needs to support copay programs, associated resources, and audits
Bachelor's degree or greater (general business, health sciences, managed healthcare, public policy or related disciplines are preferred)
A minimum of 6 years' related work experience designing, implementing and/or managing copay or other programs or services
Previous work experience in vendor management and project management
Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of AstraZeneca's activities related to copay programs
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals and objectives
Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively
Business travel, by air or car, may be required for regular internal and external business meetings
Relevant healthcare/pharmaceutical experience with specialty biologics
Previous experience in other functions within the pharmaceutical, biotech or related industry is preferred, e.g., field account management, field reimbursement, managed care marketing, customer service & operations, etc.
Knowledge of copay programs: operational policies and processes
Knowledge of the issues, trends and needs as these relate to copay programs and the managed care environment
